What's the difference between Builder Gel and Gel-X?
Builder Gel adds structure over your natural nails. Gel-X uses full-cover soft-gel tips to add length. The choice depends on your nail condition, the length and design you want, and the maintenance that fits your plans. We will discuss the options for your nails before starting. Both full-set services start at $60 on our current menu; added tips for Builder Gel are listed separately.
How do I choose between Gel-X, Builder Gel, and dip?
Choose Gel-X when you want added length with full-cover soft-gel tips. Consider Builder Gel when you want structure over your natural nails, or dip powder for a powder-color service with or without added tips. Tell us about your nail condition, daily routine, existing product, and design goal so we can discuss the options and maintenance before you choose.
How much is a gel manicure or a full set in Tallahassee?
At Palace Nail Spa in Midtown Tallahassee, gel manicures start around $40 (classic manicure plus gel), an Apres Gel-X full set starts at $60, and Builder Gel (BIAB) starts at $60. Prices start at the listed amount and vary with length and design. Paying with cash always gets you our best price on every service. Our menu shows cash prices, the card price for debit and credit is 3% higher, and both prices are shown for every service.
How often should I rebook?
Ask your nail artist when to return for the product used on your nails, taking nail growth, length, condition, and daily use into account. A gel-polish refresh, a Builder Gel fill, and a new Gel-X set are different services. Rebooking before you leave can help you plan. If product lifts, chips, or becomes uncomfortable sooner, call the salon instead of waiting for your planned visit.
How long does a Gel-X appointment take?
Plan on about 75 to 90 minutes for a full set, a little longer with detailed art. We'll confirm timing when you book so you're never rushed.
Does Gel-X damage my natural nails when it comes off?
Removal depends on the product and the condition of your set. Our technicians reduce bulk carefully and remove product with the right professional method, taking the time your nails need. Please don't peel or pick extensions at home; come in and let us take them off properly.

Great sets come off as carefully as they go on. When it's time for a change, we take your set off with a patient soak-off, giving your nails the time they need.
What changes the price and time
Removal, repairs, extra length, special shapes, French tips, chrome, and detailed nail art can add price or time. Tell us about those needs when you reserve and show your inspiration photo before service. Ask us to confirm the expected total and timing before we begin, and request an updated estimate before approving a change.

Whether a fill or a fresh set is right depends on your nail condition, the structure of the current set, the product on your nails, and what we see at the consultation. Removal
Removal depends on the product on your nails. Some gel products are designed to soak off; others require a different removal method. If you are unsure what was applied, tell your technician before removal begins. Read our product removal policy.
Caring for your Gel-X set
Follow the aftercare advice for the products used on your nails. Use cuticle oil as directed, wear gloves for cleaning, and avoid using your nails as tools. Do not pick, pry or glue a lifted edge back down. If a tip lifts or cracks, call the salon to discuss the next step. Leave removal to a nail professional, and ask what maintenance fits your nail condition, length and daily use.
