The sequence below runs from first trial to the appointment two to three days before you walk down the aisle.

The timeline, in order

1. A month or more out: the trial. Wear your wedding set at a regular appointment well before the big week. Same color, same length, same shape. You are testing how it types, how it photographs, and how you feel about it on day ten, which no swatch can tell you. Photograph the trial in daylight and indoors; cameras disagree with mirrors more often than anyone expects.
2. After the trial: decide and note it. Lock the exact color name and shape with your nail artist so the final appointment is a repeat performance, not a reinvention.
