Manicures & Nail Care
Classic, Palace, or Royal: Choosing Your Manicure
4 minute read
The manicure menu at Palace Nail Spa in Midtown Tallahassee is a three step ladder: the Classic at $25, the Palace Spa Manicure at $35, and the Royal Spa Manicure at $42, all cash starting prices. Each step up adds something real, not just a bigger number: the Palace adds a sugar scrub, and the Royal adds a premium scrub, a longer massage, and two warm towels. Match the tier to the week your hands have had and you will pick right every time.
The ladder, in one minute
The Classic Manicure starts at $25 and covers the essentials: a warm hand soak, cuticle care, a lotion massage, and your choice of polish. It is quick, tidy, and done well. The Palace Spa Manicure starts at $35 and is our signature, the tier most guests settle into as their regular. The Royal Spa Manicure starts at $42 and is the most complete manicure on the menu. All three end the same way, with polish applied without rushing; the difference is everything that happens between the soak and the color.
Prices shown are cash starting prices; see the full menu for current pricing. Paying cash skips the 3% card processing cost. You can compare every option side by side on our full list of manicures in Tallahassee.
What the Palace Spa adds over the Classic
One word: exfoliation. The Palace Spa Manicure includes everything in the Classic, then adds a sugar scrub worked over your hands before the massage. A scrub sounds like a small thing until you feel the difference it makes. It lifts away the dry, dull layer that builds up from dishes, typing, yard work, and Florida sun, so the lotion massage that follows sinks in instead of sitting on top. Polish edges also sit cleaner against smooth skin. That single added step is why the Palace Spa is our signature manicure: it is the point on the ladder where a manicure stops being maintenance and starts feeling like a treatment.
What the Royal adds over the Palace
The Royal Spa Manicure keeps every Palace step and upgrades three of them. The sugar scrub becomes a premium sugar scrub. The lotion massage runs noticeably longer, which matters more than any other line on the menu if your hands spend the day gripping a steering wheel, a keyboard, or a toddler. And two warm towels are wrapped around your hands to hold the warmth of the massage a little longer. Guests who type all day tell us the longer massage is the part they book it for. It is the most complete manicure we offer, and if you have never gone past the Classic, the Royal is the tier that shows you what the extra minutes are for.
Gel, collagen gloves, and small upgrades
Any tier can finish with gel polish for $15 more. Gel wears about 2 to 3 weeks on hands, so it suits guests who cannot babysit regular polish through a busy stretch. If you are not sure which finish fits your routine, our guide to gel versus regular manicures walks through the tradeoffs without the jargon. The upgrade math is simple: the finish decides how long the color lasts, and the tier decides how your hands feel.
In cooler months, warm collagen gloves are a lovely $8 addition to any manicure: deeply hydrating, and a natural pairing with the Royal's longer massage. If your nails are fine but the color is tired, a regular polish change is $15 and a gel polish change is $30.
Pick by the week you have had
A fair way to choose: book the Classic when your nails just need shaping, tidy cuticles, and fresh color before the weekend. Book the Palace Spa when it has been a normal few weeks and your hands feel a little rough at the knuckles, because the scrub is exactly what that calls for. Book the Royal after the weeks that show: a move, a long project, cold dry air, or one too many days of hand sanitizer. And if you truly cannot decide, start with the signature Palace Spa. It sits in the middle of the ladder for a reason, and you can step up to the Royal next visit if you catch yourself wishing the massage had lasted longer.
