Getting here from Frenchtown

On foot from Frenchtown, follow Tennessee Street east across Monroe Street; Palace is a few blocks along, with the parking lot in front. By car from Levy Park, take Monroe Street south to Tennessee Street and turn east; from Griffin Heights, Old Bainbridge Road or Brevard Street brings you to Monroe and then Tennessee. Travel times vary with traffic and the time of day.

One of Tallahassee's oldest neighborhoods

Frenchtown's name goes back to French settlers who came to the Lafayette Land Grant in the early 1800s. After the Civil War it became, for the next hundred years, the business, social and entertainment center of Tallahassee's African American community: Lincoln High School opened on East Brevard Street in 1869 as one of three freedmen's schools in Florida, and its cafés hosted touring bands into the 1950s. Levy Park and Griffin Heights carry their own histories along the Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard corridor, and the City's Frenchtown Neighborhood First program is the current chapter. Palace sits at the eastern edge of all of this, close enough that a visit is an errand rather than an outing.

An easy first visit

If Palace is new to you, the first visit is simple: choose the base service you want, and you can add a small detail or nothing at all. Our menu shows the price of every service before you sit down, a manicure with regular polish and a Classic Pedicure are both on it, and we confirm the service, any removal, the estimated total and the expected time before we begin. Walk-ins are always welcome. If you would rather reserve, do it online or call (850) 727-8166; there is no deposit for regular appointments. Men are always welcome, with or without polish, and a parent or caregiver accompanying a child is always welcome to stay.
